Allen Architects guided our client through the ‘Larger Home Extension’ and ‘Neighbour Consultation Scheme’ processes to secure a deeper addition to this traditional Victorian terrace house than would otherwise have been achievable under traditional planning permission.

Utilising a familiar pitched roof and ‘gable ended’ form, the ceiling height internally was vaulted with large format roof windows to accentuate the volume of the space.

Alongside the new multi-functional living space, ancillary accommodation such as a utility room and a cloak room WC were either relocated or created as new at the centre of the plan. This allowed for the formation of a fully glazed rear façade with ‘crittal-type’ framing.
