Allen Architects extended and altered the internal layout of this basement flat in the ‘Hampstead Conservation Area’, to form an additional 2nd bedroom and open plan living area.

The ‘asymmetrical pyramid’ type roof forms low height walls on the boundaries with adjoining properties to address planning constraints, whilst vaulted ceilings internally are topped with a glazed apex above the kitchen and dining space.

The extension incorporates contemporary materials in the form of corner glazed sliding aluminium doors and standing seam zinc roof cladding, paired with more traditional ‘parquet floorboards and metro tiles.
