Our lovely clients approached us about extending and reconfiguring their Victorian terrace home in Haringey to create a larger and better functioning family living space. They had a clear vision about how the design should be sympathetic to the original property, incorporating traditional materials and finishes, and retaining/restoring original historic features.
 
We developed and evolved the initial brief whilst retaining these core objectives and addressing site constraints. The property is located on a steep hill and which influenced the formation of a split height extension.
 
The living area in the extension benefits from a vaulted ceiling space and large format French doors and fanlights overlooking the garden. In the kitchen, a bench storage/window seat creates a cosy reading nook, connecting the internal to external space, where a dining terrace is recessed within the landscaping.
